The Filmmakers

Roudi Boroumand (Director/Co-Writer) is an Iranian-American indie filmmaker, film educator and film studies writer/translator. She began her career as a photographer fresh out of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society and soon became an arts and entertainment journalist. Due to the imprisonment of the journalists and the shutting down of the papers that were the voice of opposition against the dictatorship of the Islamic regime, she left Iran and has continued freelancing journalistic and independent creative work in the U.S. since 2002.
A graduate of Portland State University and the Northwest Film Center in Portland, she received her film degrees from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she teaches various film courses. Boroumand has made award-winning short films, co-produced a student feature (Death to False Hipsters), and has another feature making the festival circuit rounds, Riot in Bloom, as a screenwriter and casting director.
Pj Perez (Producer/Assistant Director) is an award-winning filmmaker and journalist whose debut feature, the documentary Parkway of Broken Dreams, nabbed several film festivals’ “Best Documentary” laurels before being picked up for national public television distribution. In addition to executive producing a number of projects (including Riot in Bloom), Perez has written, directed and/or edited a number of narrative and documentary short films, as well as the pilot for a nonfiction web series and two feature films. He is currently in production on his second documentary feature, Murdered on the Fourth of July.
Terrence Williams (Co-Writer) is a filmmaker best known for his work with Desert Moon Productions, where he was the screenwriter for the documentaries Invisible Las Vegas II (2013) and The Rancho High School Riots (2012).
Anthony Le (Cinematographer) is a Las Vegas-based cinematographer and filmmaker who approaches his work with curiosity, honesty and heart. Raised in a mixed Vietnamese, Colombian and Mexican household, he grew up in a space where academics and the arts intertwined, shaping a deep appreciation for culture, storytelling and the beauty in everyday life. A lifelong cinephile, Anthony treats the camera as a second language—an instinctive tool to capture truth, emotion and human connection.
Principal Cast

Daniel Roebuck (Russell) is an acclaimed actor, writer, and director whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and stage. A native of Bethlehem, Penn., Roebuck discovered his passion for performing early, moving from local theater and stand-up comedy to Hollywood success. He made his feature film debut in Cavegirl and earned early critical attention for his haunting role in River’s Edge.
Roebuck’s film credits include such box-office hits as The Fugitive, U.S. Marshals, Final Destination, Money Talks and Flash of Genius. A lifelong fan of the horror genre, he has become a frequent collaborator with director Rob Zombie, appearing in The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween, Halloween II, and The Lords of Salem, as well as cult favorites Bubba Ho-Tep and John Dies at the End.
On television, Roebuck is beloved for his role as attorney Cliff Lewis opposite Andy Griffith on Matlock, and has appeared in dozens of acclaimed series, including Lost, Nash Bridges, NCIS, Boston Legal, Law & Order, Desperate Housewives and Grimm. His portrayal of Jay Leno in HBO’s The Late Shift earned widespread praise.
Behind the camera, Roebuck has produced and directed several documentaries, including Halloween: The Happy Haunting of America. He also founded Los Angeles’ Saint Francis Stage Company and continues to mentor young performers through his “The Audition Is the Job” workshop.
Adam Paul (Larry) is an Assistant Professor of Film in Screen Acting at UNLV Film, where he teaches acting for filmmakers, voice over and performance capture. He also serves as the Film Department’s Student Experience and Outreach Coordinator and is the creator and head of the department’s intensive professional filmmaker incubator, Filmmaker Vision Lab.
Adam’s long career as an actor is marked by numerous TV programs and films, including The Informant!, One for the Money and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. He most notably played Mitch, “The Naked Man,” on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. His voice can be heard in dozens of commercials, video games, audiobooks and animated projects, including Aeon Flux, Invader Zim, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Ferngully II and Halo Wars.
Adam has written and directed two seasons of CBS’s Emmy-winning The Inspectors, created, produced and starred in the Starz Network comedy series Hollywood Residential, and is an award-winning commercial director and writer who has shot spots for VW, MasterCard, Lenovo and many more. He received his training as an actor at the American Conservatory Theater, where he earned his Master in Fine Arts degree in 1992.
Priyanka Wali (Shakini) is a stand-up comic who has performed routinely throughout the United States and abroad, including corporate gigs, casinos and comedy clubs, being named by Refinery29 as one of the “50 Female Stand-Up Comedians You Need To Know.” She has been featured on KFOG radio, Women’s Health, The Today Show, Business Insider, Uproxx, Cosmopolitan, India Currents magazine and Healthline. She is also the co-host of HypochondriActor with Sean Hayes. Priyanka truly believes laughter is the best medicine, but likes to cover her bases as a board-certified practicing physician in Internal Medicine, too.
Nick Wells (Norm/Co-Producer) has been a driving force in experimental cinema and alternative music since his earliest Super 8 films as a child. A fixture of the Las Vegas underground, he fronted the indie rock bands The Western Virus and Lovecraftian Child while honing his filmmaking at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As part of the anarcho-art collective LASERVIDA, Wells pushed boundaries with video installations and genre-bending works while producing live visuals for artists including Moby, Run DMC, and Prince.
After relocating to Portland, Wells expanded his creative range through collaborations with Cinema Queso, producing Kcor the Warrior and writing, directing, and starring in Metal Messiah: Born Again Sage, a heavy-metal satire and cult favorite. He continues to curate found footage and vintage media through his long-running ReRun Theater series at Portland’s Historic Hollywood Theatre, now in its 15th year, and has recently returned to UNLV—this time as a film professor—bringing his decades of underground innovation to a new generation of filmmakers.
