In the unrelenting hum of Las Vegas, an unhoused man haunted by unfinished dreams clings to his ritual of humming as both refuge and resistance, finding fragile sparks of connection with a young psychic and an old friend before confronting the ruins of his past.
Homelessness, poverty, disability, and displacement are often reduced to numbers, crises, or headlines. Here, they are lived realities: rituals of survival, fragments of memory, and quiet moments of tenderness. Characters are not symbols, but presences.
Rooted in social realism and inspired by directors such as Kelly Reichardt, Agnès Varda and Abbas Kiarostami, Constant Hum moves between restraint and intimacy: long takes punctuated by close attention to faces, hands, and fleeting gestures.
To bring the world and characters of Constant Hum to life via moving images and immersive sound, we have assembled a diverse group of creatives, craftspeople and performers to contribute their lived experiences, varied perspectives and immense talent.
The hum keeps him going

As an immigrant female filmmaker and educator, I bring both personal insight and artistic rigor to this project. Combining realism with experimental approaches to sound and image, I aim to give audiences not a spectacle, but an authentic and poetic reflection of America today.
Although Constant Hum is a labor of love, that labor does not come without cost. From paying and feeding cast and crew and securing locations to insuring our production and applying to film festivals, there are numerous ways your contributions can help offset our out-of-pocket expenses for creating this impactful short film.
Over the course of three-and-a-half days in late 2025, the cast and crew of Constant Hum took to the streets, alleys, parking lots, strip malls and abandoned lots of downtown and central Las Vegas to film the bulk of footage for our little short film.
